Good morning! Here’s a look at Olivia, Estelle, Sudanna and Nora. They are wonderful to watch and it’s fun to see them all together. The photo shoot is starting tomorrow, for which I can’t wait! I cross my fingers and hoping that everything will go well…See you soon!

Patience needed!

Making art dolls is a long and hard process and mainly if they need to be modeled one by one! The kneading of the clay alone takes me between two to four hours of work and more if I have to mix more than one color. I must confess that there were moments of discouragement: either due to the clay being too hard to work with or because it was too soft. So, making art dolls requires patience and determination. These are two little tips that I strongly suggest to all those who wish to join the world of artist doll making.

La fabrication de poupées d’art est un processus long et difficile et principalement si elles doivent êtres modelés une à une! Le pétrissage de la pâte prend à lui seul me prend entre deux et quatre heures de travail et plus si je dois mélanger plus d’une couleur. Je dois vous avouer qu’il y a eu des moments de découragement : pâte trop difficile à travailler soit parce qu’elle était trop dur ou trop molle. Donc, la fabrication de poupées d’art demande de la patience et de la détermination. Se sont-là deux petits conseils que je suggère fortement à tous ceux et celles qui souhaitent se joindre dans le monde de la fabrication de poupées d’artiste.

Hello everyone! I’ve finally finished Nora and Sudanna’s outfits. Shoe making is the next step before the big photo shoot. I’ll be done in a few days… Hoping that there are no unforeseen events that come.

Bonjour tout le monde! J’ai enfin terminé les accoutrements de Nora et de Sudanna. La fabrication de chaussures est la prochaine étape avant la grande séance photo. J’aurai tout terminé d’ici quelques jours…en espérant qu’il n’y est pas d’imprévu qui se pointent.

Hello and I’m back! I’m moving slowly, but surely with my two ladies and they’re about to be assembled finally. And it will take me a whole week to complete their wigs and hairstyles. Content with their size (56 cm-22 inches), I intend, as usual, to use human hair. I want them to have high hairstyles, like buns for example. It’s going to be pretty, isn’t it? What do you think? Anecdotally, painting Sudanna was slightly complicated; I was one finger away from ruining everything. Luckily, acrylic paint is in some sense quite easy to remove with a good solvent.

Bonjour et je suis de retour! J’avance lentement, mais surement avec mes deux demoiselles et elles sont sur le point d’être enfin assemblées. Puis, il me faudra une semaine entière afin de compléter leurs perruques et coiffures. Contenu de leur grandeur (56 cm-22 pouces), je compte, comme d’habitude, d’utiliser des cheveux humains. Je les veux avec des coiffures hautes, comme des chignons par exemple. Ce sera joli, non? Qu’en pensez-vous? Petite anecdote, peinturer Sudanna fut légèrement compliqué; j’étais à un doigt de tout ruiner. Par chance, la peinture d’acrylique est dans un certain sens assez facile à retirer avec un bon soluble.

Hello my lovers of handmade products! Finally, I introduce you to Nora and Sudanna, the two dolls that complete the 2020 Cardinal Directions Collection. Of course, by their first names Nora represents the North and Sudanna the South. Unlike the previous dolls, Olivia and Estelle, I worked simultaneously Nora and Sudanna. It’s been a long time, but I’ve took ahead start during the holidays. When I had time off, I was working. So last December was an intense month! But thank Goodness I was able to advance! I will come back to you with more detail in the next few days. See you again!

Allô mes amoureux de produits fait main! Je vous présente enfin Nora et Sudanna, les deux poupées qui complètes la collection 2020 Les Directions Cardinaux. Bien évidemment, par leur prénom Nora représente le Nord et Sudanna le sud. Contrairement aux précédentes poupées Olivia et Estelle, j’ai travaillé simultanément Nora et Sudanna. Ce fut long, mais j’ai pris énormément d’avance lors des temps des fêtes. Dans les jours de congé, je travaillais. Donc, le mois de Décembre dernier fut intense! Mais grâce à Dieu, j’y suis parvenue! Je vous reviendrai avec plus de détails d’ici quelques jours. À bientôt!

Since this morning, according to Chinese astrology, 2020 will be the year of the Metal Rat! It began on January 25, 2020 with the Chinese New Year. It will end on February 11, 2021 and will follow with the Chinese sign of the Metal Buffalo. From this date we will all enjoy a year that will combine honesty and pragmatism (and people who appreciate fashion will surely be delighted, because this year could bring positive things in this area)

Those born in the years 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 and 2020 were all born in this intelligent Chinese sign. Rats are quick-witted, popular and funny. They are very loyal and always ready for a challenge, but they can be motivated by money and greed.
