Hello! The creation of the basic patterns began several weeks ago. The process is lengthy and includes various technical adjustments, such as changing the length. Several basic models have been fixed. I’m excited to create the first designs for Miss Georgia’s next collection.
Hi everyone.Β I’ve been working on a few outfits for an upcoming photo shoot. And yes, because I worked on a second doll with a slightly darker complexion. Her color is almond and resembles to the previous doll. I hope you like her.Β For the rest, I’ll keep it simple.Β There’s no way I’m going to complicate my life. There will be no flash… Just minimalism. I want to keep it very simple.Β The clothes are dyed and I’m in the process of figuring out the final looks that I want for this shoot. I need to understand Miss Georgia’s figure. Her waist is small, but her hips are wider.Β She has a short torso and long legs. I know that some clothes will fit her perfectly, like the tunic dress and short pants.
Good morning, everyone! I finally finish the five pattern parts for Miss Georgia. These pattern parts that make up the basic dress are called the basic pattern, bloc, foundation, or sloper. This pattern set serves many purposes. It clarifies and helps the patternmaker understand the fit of a garment relative to pattern shape. It is a record of the figureβs dimensions. It is the foundation of Flat patternmaking System and the basis of the other secondary foundation pattern such as the torso, jacket, coat pants, jumpsuit, swimwear and so on.
To make all these different patterns, I have to take Miss Georgia measurements. This task must be taken accurately and with care. For all three basic patterns (bodice, skirt and dress), three circumference measurements are required: the chest, waist and hips. As for the pants, more measurements must be added, so as vertical measurements (length of the leg) and circumference measurements, such as upper thigh, knee, calf and ankle. Whatβs next is the creation of design garment pattern. Stay tuned. π
After a short time of sleep, I finally finished this morning all corrections for this second fitting! Hope that the outfit with the real fabric will be OKβ¦Otherwise, I will have no choice to make a third fitting if itβs doesnβt turned the way I want. I will stay positive and keep my fingers crossed!
