Good morning doll lovers! My interview at IN THE DOLL WORLD will be shortly available on You Tube and also on my website. Thanks everybody and stay tuned!
Hi everyone! How are you doing? As for me, I feel wonderfull and it couldn’t be better! After a good week of work, I can finally show you my very first handmade BDJ doll. She’s made from polyhuretan resin. She’s far from being perfect, but for a first resin doll, I’m happy with the result. Some changes will be made in the near future, especially in the area of the joints (knees and elbows). I’m as happy to able to finish it before Christmas. Before I leave you, tell me what do you think of her?
Good morning! The work has finally begun and I will take my time to realize it. There’s no hurry and I don’t want to skip any steps. When pouring silicone, each corner of the silicone moulds must be properly glued with hot glue to avoid unnecessary spillage. Not to mention that I have to clean and remove any traces of dust on the surface of each molds. Otherwise, I’m going to end up with parts full of reproductive defects. And I want to avoid that nasty surprise. Silicone is a very expensive high-end product!
Hi everyone! I decided to do something almost drastic. I used my hammer to break some pieces of porcelain. I started by breaking parts of my initial prototype doll made of porcelain.
The first step was to break the lower thighs and upper calves. I put each piece in a towel. With the help of gloves and a hammer, I began to hit gently the part of the porcelain piece that I wanted to break.
Afterwards, I continued with my arms. Eventually, I had to correct and modify every part of the broken parts with some paper clay. New pairs of elbows and knees have also been made with this material. The process was easy and I would even say, pleasant.
Now, I have to wait a few days to let the parts made in paper clay. After that, I’ll be able to continue with the modeling. Stay tuned my friends and I’ll see you soon.
Good morning my friends! Here are the two heads made out of polymer clay. In my last post, we could barely see their faces. Speaking of faces, I wanted to sculpt women-style faces that were chlidlike. Angelic faces just as I love them; with big eyes and a nose full of personality. These two heads are slightly larger when comparing them to the proportion of their bodies. But that’s what I like. How do you find them?
Good morning! After several days of hard and almost endless days of modeling, I can finally show you the two heads I made in polymer clay. For the same reasons as the torso, I worked with a remnant of polymer clay that I already had. The surface of these two heads is more or less smooth. The sanding was laborious. But hey, I did my best. I would add that I don’t think I’m going to make another head. I’m going to settle with those two heads. More photos will be published in a few days and stay tuned. Have a nice day everyone!
I’m back and here’s the brand-new torso! I’m happy with the end result. The silhouette of this prototype seems more natural and realistic and that’s what I like it. However, I have to change the knee joints. They will be hidden between the thighs and calves. This new prototype is expected to be 46 cm tall (18 inches). I also expect to make completely new faces, maybe two or three. I’ll see how the first head will comes out. Stay tuned my friends!
Hi everyone! New modifications under way. I started by modeling a brand-new torso into polymer clay. I could have made it out of paper clay, but instead of spending pennies again, I used a piece of polymer clay which I already had. This was wise of me. I must confess that the surface will be less smooth compared to porcelain. This means a lot of work awaits me. But I won’t worry, since I’m used to hard work. In a few days, I’ll be back with the evolution of my modeling. Thank you and see you soon.
