Hello and I’m back! I’m moving slowly, but surely with my two ladies and they’re about to be assembled finally. And it will take me a whole week to complete their wigs and hairstyles. Content with their size (56 cm-22 inches), I intend, as usual, to use human hair. I want them to have high hairstyles, like buns for example. It’s going to be pretty, isn’t it? What do you think? Anecdotally, painting Sudanna was slightly complicated; I was one finger away from ruining everything. Luckily, acrylic paint is in some sense quite easy to remove with a good solvent.
Hello my lovers of handmade products! Finally, I introduce you to Nora and Sudanna, the two dolls that complete the 2020 Cardinal Directions Collection. Of course, by their first names Nora represents the North and Sudanna the South. Unlike the previous dolls, Olivia and Estelle, I worked simultaneously Nora and Sudanna. It’s been a long time, but I’ve took ahead start during the holidays. When I had time off, I was working. So last December was an intense month! But thank Goodness I was able to advance! Allô mes amoureux de produits fait main! Je vous présente enfin Nora et Sudanna, les deux poupées qui complètes la collection 2020 Les Directions Cardinaux. Bien évidemment, par leur prénom Nora représente le Nord et Sudanna le sud. Contrairement aux précédentes poupées Olivia et Estelle, j’ai travaillé simultanément Nora et Sudanna. Ce fut long, mais j’ai pris énormément d’avance lors des temps des fêtes. Dans les jours de congé, je travaillais. Donc, le mois de Décembre dernier fut intense! Mais grâce à Dieu, j’y suis parvenue! I’ve finally finished assembling my big doll! The process was a bit long; her size made the assembly method a little more complicated. We should not forget that she’s the first big doll that I’ve made after all … However, she will not be the last time one, but forget the idea in making one in porcelain: my electric kiln is way too small. I plan to make her wig soon. In this photo, my doll sits next to an American Model by Robert Tonner. Yes, although I have sold a good part of my collectible dolls, among them, I have kept four.
