Before I started making all the Miss Georgia outfits, I wanted to have a little fun. I have a lot of fabric scraps. Many are of vivid colors and what better way to use them to make a few pieces by hand quickly. Each of the pieces of clothing was pinned, and then I had fun taking pictures here and there.
One thing is clear; I try to maintain a tidy environment in my home studio. However, my collection of fabrics for doll clothes is starting to exceed the capacity of my closet. It overflows. It is imperative that I find a suitable space to store several scraps of fabric. Pretty white cardboard boxes were bought and well identified.
When I buy fabrics, I make sure to provide only what I need for my projects so that I don’t accumulate them. However, this minimalist approach is difficult for a doll designer because fabric is essential.
Good morning, everybody! I present to you the model that inspired the Georgianna M. doll, a realization of 2021. Among my creations, this one is one of the faces of which I am particularly proud. It is characterized by exotic, mysterious, graceful and slightly childlike features.
Je vous présente le modèle qui a inspiré la poupée Georgianna M., une réalisation de 2021. Parmi mes créations, celui-ci est l’un des visages dont je suis particulièrement fière. Il est caractérisé par des traits exotiques, mystérieux, gracieux et légèrement enfantins.
Here is Georgianna completed. I am satisfied with the result, and I want to send it into production during the summer. For the moment, just a simple production of about twenty dolls will be produced. Just like Miss Georgia, I want to moderate its availability on the market. A market that is already very competitive and I would even add saturated. One way to stand out is to offer something unique with a certain added value and high quality.
Voici Georgianna complétée. Je suis satisfaite du résultat et je souhaite l’envoyer en production au cours de l’été. Pour le moment, rien qu’une simple production d’une vingtaine de poupée seront produite. Tout comme Miss Georgia, je tiens à modérer sa disponibilité sur le marché. Un marché qui est déjà très compétitif et j’ajouterais même saturer. Une de façon de se démarquer est d’offrir quelque chose d’unique avec une certaine valeur ajoutée et de grande qualité.
The assembly of Georgianna M, a 3D doll to see her come to life. This time, I used 3D resin in 3D flesh color. As you can see, her figure is almost like that of Miss Georgia. It was intentional. After all, they are half-sisters.
L’assemblage de Georgianna M, une poupée 3D pour la voir prendre vie. Cette fois-ci, j’ai utilisé de la résine 3D de couleur 3D chair. Comme vous le constatez sa silhouette est quasi similaire à celle Miss Georgia. C’était voulu. Après tout elles sont demi-sœurs.
Meet Miss Georgia and Georgianna M. The M is for makeup. Georgianna is a dermatologist specializing in makeup. His bibliography will be discussed next time. On the other hand, her work in progress can be described as follows: Georgianna M.’s 3D prototype is smaller than Miss Georgia. She is 30.5 cm (12 inches) tall, while her sister is 31.75 cm (12 1/2 inches) tall. They have the same foot size, 3.8 cm (1 1/2 inch). Also, they can share the same eye measurement, which is 7mm.
Voici Miss Georgia et Georgianna M. Le M est pour maquillage. Georgianna est dermatologue spécialisée dans le maquillage. Sa bibliographie sera abordée une prochaine fois. En revanche, son travail en cours peut être décrit ainsi : le prototype 3D de Georgianna M. est plus petit que Miss Georgia. Elle mesure 30,5 cm (12 pouces) de haut, tandis que sa sœur mesure 31,75 cm (12 ½ pouces). Elles ont la même pointure de pied, soit 3,8 cm (1 ½ pouce). Aussi, elles peuvent partager la même mensuration de yeux, soit de 7mm.
I present to you my two dolls. You already know the first one, the other one will be unveiled soon. Their silhouettes are similar because they are half-sisters. I used the same technical drawing to model the second doll. Once completed, I sent the photos to a 3D artist who had already helped me with Miss Georgia. His work was ultra professional, and I am delighted with the result.
Je vous présente mes deux poupées. Vous connaissez déjà la première, l’autre sera dévoilée bientôt. Leurs silhouettes sont similaires car elles sont demi-sœurs. J’ai utilisé le même dessin technique pour modeler la seconde poupée. Une fois complétée, j’ai envoyé les photos à un artiste spécialisé en 3D qui m’avait déjà aidé pour Miss Georgia. Son travail était ultra professionnel et je suis ravie du résultat.
Surprise! Here is the design of a second doll, made in 2022 at the same time as Miss Georgia. Aside to focus on Miss Georgia, I resumed her remodeling last summer with her prototype as a reference. I wanted this doll to be more voluptuous, with curves and a feminine figure. More details will be released soon.
Surprise! Voici la conception d’une deuxième poupée, réalisée en 2022 en même temps que Miss Georgia. Mise de côté pour me concentrer sur Miss Georgia, j’ai repris son remodelage l’été dernier avec son prototype comme référence. Je voulais cette poupée plus voluptueuse, avec des rondeurs et une silhouette féminine. Plus de détails seront publiés bientôt.
Hi all! I’m surprised by the result I was able to get with this material! The texture makes me think of a mixture of wild silk, wool and acrylic fiber. It is even a material that is pleasant to the touch. Why did I experiment with this textile fiber? For three reasons. The first is for creating dyes, the second for making curls and the last for the design of different mats. And I can confirm that each of these techniques works, and I’m delighted about that.
Bonjour à tous! Je suis surprise par le résultat que j’ai pu obtenir avec cette matière! La texture me fait penser à un mélange de la soie sauvage, de la laine et mais aussi de la fibre d’acrylique. C’est une matière même agréable au touché. Pour quelle raison j’ai expérimenté avec cette fibre textile? Pour trois raisons. La première est pour créer des teintures, la seconde pour réaliser des boucles et la dernière pour la conception de différentes nattes. Et je peux vous confirmer que chacune de ses techniques fonctionne et j’en suis ravie.
Wigs are a source of frustration for me. Although making dolls is laborious, I do it with confidence, even when in doubt. The manufacture of wigs is more complex. I like them to look natural. Miss Georgia is mixed-race, so the texture of her hair should reflect her origins. I bought two wigs with tulle and lace to better understand their design and experimented with various materials like angora wool, merino wool, wild silk and rayon fiber. I will present some results in futures publications.
Les perruques sont une source de frustration pour moi. Bien que la fabrication des poupées soit laborieuse, je la réalise avec confiance, même en cas de doute. La fabrication des perruques est plus complexe. J’aime qu’elles aient l’air naturelles. Miss Georgia est métisse, donc la texture de ses cheveux doit refléter ses origines. J’ai acheté deux perruques avec tulle et dentelle pour mieux comprendre leur conception et expérimenté diverses matières comme la laine d’angora, la laine de mérinos, la soie sauvage et la fibre de rayonne. Je présenterai quelques résultats dans les prochaines publications.
