I am almost done with Manon’s outfit and during this past weekend it was fitting time! I was very happy on how it turned out: only one fitting for the skirt! Since Manon’s fashion design is a continuity of my previous (Adele) doll’s outfit, the design process was an easy one. I love the folkloric pattern of that fabric, since it’s uplifting and reflects happiness. More details on tomorrow’s post!
Hello doll lovers! In case some of you didn’t read the news, 4 days ago, I decided to stop my studies in Design Textile, due to personal issues. While cleaning up some of my various student works, I had mix feeling about several of my textile projects, some of them looked messy. However, it was the best way for me to experiment with different paints and mediums and to know them better. I don’t know what you think, but on my part, I can’t wait to take a few textile workshops during next winter semester.
PS: You have probably noticed that my previous post was both written in English and French. Well, since French is my main language, all my future posts will be in both languages. Thank you lovely people for your understanding.

Due to factors beyond and out of my control, I will not be able to pursue my studies in the field of textile design. Although, I am sincerely disappointed and sadden by this situation, I will continue to have a positive and optimistic outlook for the future, and intend to fall back on my previous (fashion) studies to continue working on my fashion art dolls. On a positive note, in the coming semesters, I will be taking several seminars and workshops (textiles, ceramics…) at the College, University or private levels. As these courses develop, I will post them on my blog site. To finish, I leave you with a few pictures of various projects that I completed during my textile design courses. Thanks to you all.
Hello everyone! Here is a sneak preview of Adele’s design outfit! I like the way the patterns turned out and I feel the same way for the colors. Since I am studying in textile design, I am able to make this print myself, but my schedule is way too full and since I bought this fabric a long time ago…I think it was the right time to make something nice with it. Don’t be surprise if you see this fabric in another doll design outfit or for future projects…Oops! Did I just say future projects? The answer is yes, but I can’t speak about it for now. More photos will be posted shortly during the week.
Good evening! I’m happy tonight, because after a second and a third fitting, Adele’s outfit is almost done. I was not satisfied with the first fitting: the tunic dress was too short and too tight around the thighs. On the second fitting the hemline was too loose and more corrections needed to be done on the sleeves. I spend a full day making pattern corrections and sewing for the third fitting and all I can tell you, things are looking good! I will come to you with more updates.
Good evening! Here is a small design overview of my Adele’s fashion outfit. As you can see, my approach on the design process, is to have a good overview of what I want to create and put myself in a deep creative mood!
Hello! On tonight’s post, I’ll make a quick close up of my design process. For many of you, it will sound to elaborate and with to much procedure. First, any ideas come with my mood and on what I feel right in the present time so I can write about it. All the things that I write, read or see are all than used to create a mood board. This mood board is important because it is a collage of all the things I am sensitive to: pictures, color or fabric swatches and even articles or proverbs. Then, it’s time for me to make a quick inventory of what I have in terms of materials, before buying anything else. I like to have a good over view of what I can create with what I have and then it’s time for me to sketch a few designs. Actually, I have the intention to create other boards (creative and design), especially if I have specific theme or concept in mind. In a few days, I will get back to you with more details. Thanks everyone!
What’s up everyone? Was your Monday an easy one or was it heavy and draining? Do not worry about it, since summer is around the corner and vacations are on their way. Summer means color and I am ready to complete inspirational designs for Adele. The outfit that I’ll will be designing though will not be part of a summer collection: the fabric that I will be using (corduroy) is not proper.
Hi everybody! For Adele’s design inspiration everything came pretty easily, I went with what I already had in my home. The first thing that intrigued me was this beautiful flower bouquet in my kitchen. Though they are artificial fabric flowers, I found them very pretty and since I love color so much, it was totally normal for me to use this lovely flower bouquet as a design inspiration for Adele. The fabric which I will be using, is a colorful cotton corduroy with exotic central Asian flower print patterns. I will come up with more design details in a few days. Thanks everyone!
Hello everybody! Most of you probably know that I am actually studying in textile, while working part time in the fashion industry. One of my newest projects in textile is to design prints inspired from fantasy books or stories. On my part, I choose Aladdin! The story of Aladdin is so rich…With his three wishes and the help of a magic lamp, all of his dreams came true! But seriously, I wasn’t inspired by Aladdin itself, but I am a huge fan of India simple as that! Also, I love the story when European Kingdoms were fitting between each other, in order to find the road to India for the spice trade. I am amazed by architectural artistry, the food, the elaborate fashion designs and, of course, the gorgeous textiles and prints designs from this country. Also for this project, I had to chose two colors, I was torn between purple which represents royalty and fuchsia, sensuality. In the end, I chose fuchsia!
