Good morning everyone! For two days, I’ve been in sandblasting mode. Several pieces of dry porcelain, about forty, need to be thoroughly cleaned and refined before the first firing. To be honest, it’s a difficult and very long process… Attention to minute and patience are suggested! Happy Easter to all!
Good evening to all! As I mentioned earlier, I’m back with porcelain and this return was a shock. Yes, although I’m excited about it, it was a shock. I had forgotten that working with porcelain is a long process and requires patience. And Yes! Once the doll parts are unmoulded, it is necessary to wait almost a week to allow the pieces to dry. They should all be as light as a sheet of cardboard. But, at this point, they are just as fragile as an egg shell. Any mishandling on my part risks breaking the dried pieces of porcelain. I have to sand and refine each part of the doll delicately.
Patience is paramount and a week of hard work awaits me. Normally, during this process, I like to work outside. The silica particles in the dried porcelain are harmful to one’s health and the silica dust accumulates on my furniture… and I hate it! But hey, I like this beautiful noble material that is porcelain and especially once it is high fired (final firing at 1400 degrees Celsius / 2300 F). I’ll leave you with my two new dolls and see you soon!
Happy women’s day! There’s a saying in numerology, that number 2 represents many things such as love, marriage, union, co-operations, team work, friendship, mutual aid, generosity and none less, femininity (women). Because of the twos they possess, this Century and especially this new decade are no exception to this rule!
Hello everyone! in tomorrow it will the international Women’s Day and in order to celebrate this special occasion, here a beautiful poem by Reese Leyva.
Remember, Woman, you were born life giver, miracle creator, magic maker.
You were born with the heart of a thousand mothers, open and fearless and sweet.
You were born with the fire of Queens and Conquerors, warriors’ blood you bleed.
You were born with the wisdom of sages and shamans, no wound can you can not heal,
You were born the teller of your own tale, before none should you kneel.
You were born with an immeasurable soul reaching out past infinity.
You were born to desire with passion, abandon and to name your own destiny.
Remember, Women, remember you are more than you can see.
Remember, Women, remember you are loved endlessly.
Remember, Women, your power and grace, the depth of your deep-sea heart.
Never forget you are Women, divine, as you have been from the start.
