Hello! This is the third doll I’ve been working on lately. The work was slow. It was out of the question for me to hurry things. As you can see from this photo, the wig’s work is almost complete. I’ve been hesitant with the hair color. I took my time. Finally, I opted for black rather than auburn or ash blonde colors.
Good morning to all! It’s been almost a week since I published anything. I’m sorry about that. The reason is simple: I was finishing the outfits of three dolls at the same time. I worked in stages with several breaks. So, the work was long, laborious, but also enjoyable. I’m thinking of working on two more dolls, and then start the photo shoot. See you soon in my next post.
Good morning everyone! After one week break, the painting work continued. This time, I was able to continue with the second batch of dolls. I worked during the night. It’s something rare in my case! Usually, I prefer working during the day. I enjoy natural light better, simply because the end result is often more satisfying.
On February 12, 2021, with the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Beef will follow the Year of the Metal Rat. We will thus go from an active Yang year, to a rather quiet and serene Yin year. This year will be marked by hard work and stability, our privacy will also be in the spotlight. The Beef encourages to redouble our efforts, to work, to breathe new life into our projects. This calm animal encourages us to secure our future and that of our loved ones. It is high time we took responsibility. It is also a year marked by the traditions dear to the heart of the Beef. Loving is important, but you will also have to learn to be lenient.
What does the Year of the Beef have in store for us?
During this year 2021, a new twelve-year cycle will be established under the aegis of the Honourable Beef, let us rejoice, so it is a calm and serene year that is coming. We need it! After the very eventful atmosphere that we experienced in The Year Rat, the next twelve months will be more access on peace, appeasement and serenity. Not fond of conflict, the Beef will encourage us to privilege our intelligence and wisdom over our brute force.
Lifeless loves will have little chance of surviving, but great love stories will be born. And finally, everything related to career, professional relations, active life will be highlighted and privileged.
Hello my friends! Here are the first three BDJ art dolls. I’ve finally completed them! All that’s missing are the hands to assemble. As you can see, the shades are different: the first one is apricot, the second is an orchid-coloured and the third is a powder pink. Despite some engineering flaws, I’m happy with the results. I plan to rework on some parts of the prototype doll, in order to perfect the engineering (the joints). Thank you everyone for your interest and we’ll see you in my next post!
Hi everyone! The painting has finally started early this morning. The resin’s surface works well, just like polymer clay. Let me explain: each layer of acrylic paint must be applied one step a time, just like watercolor painting. However, acrylic paint is mixed with a retardator and distilled water. At this stage, the paint is translucent. I must work fast, since acrylic paint dries fast! To remedy the situation, I had to do some tests on some default resin pieces. Just like a child, I had so much fun and I’ve never felt so great. Thank you and see you soon.
