A little fun
Before I started making all the Miss Georgia outfits, I wanted to have a little fun. I have a lot of fabric scraps. Many are of vivid colors and what better way to use them to make a few pieces by hand quickly. Each of the pieces of clothing was pinned, and then I had fun taking pictures here and there.
One thing is clear; I try to maintain a tidy environment in my home studio. However, my collection of fabrics for doll clothes is starting to exceed the capacity of my closet. It overflows. It is imperative that I find a suitable space to store several scraps of fabric. Pretty white cardboard boxes were bought and well identified.
When I buy fabrics, I make sure to provide only what I need for my projects so that I don’t accumulate them. However, this minimalist approach is difficult for a doll designer because fabric is essential.
The inspiration
Good morning, everybody! I present to you the model that inspired the Georgianna M. doll, a realization of 2021. Among my creations, this one is one of the faces of which I am particularly proud. It is characterized by exotic, mysterious, graceful and slightly childlike features.

The assembly of Georgianna M, a 3D doll to see her come to life. This time, I used 3D resin in 3D flesh color. As you can see, her figure is almost like that of Miss Georgia. It was intentional. After all, they are half-sisters.
L’assemblage de Georgianna M, une poupée 3D pour la voir prendre vie. Cette fois-ci, j’ai utilisé de la résine 3D de couleur 3D chair. Comme vous le constatez sa silhouette est quasi similaire à celle Miss Georgia. C’était voulu. Après tout elles sont demi-sœurs.

Hi all! I’m surprised by the result I was able to get with this material! The texture makes me think of a mixture of wild silk, wool and acrylic fiber. It is even a material that is pleasant to the touch. Why did I experiment with this textile fiber? For three reasons. The first is for creating dyes, the second for making curls and the last for the design of different mats. And I can confirm that each of these techniques works, and I’m delighted about that.
Bonjour à tous! Je suis surprise par le résultat que j’ai pu obtenir avec cette matière! La texture me fait penser à un mélange de la soie sauvage, de la laine et mais aussi de la fibre d’acrylique. C’est une matière même agréable au touché. Pour quelle raison j’ai expérimenté avec cette fibre textile? Pour trois raisons. La première est pour créer des teintures, la seconde pour réaliser des boucles et la dernière pour la conception de différentes nattes. Et je peux vous confirmer que chacune de ses techniques fonctionne et j’en suis ravie.
Wigs 1 & 2
The manufacture of a wig is a process requiring great precision and care. The glue used can spread on various surfaces, including the hands and the doll. To protect the latter, the head should be covered with plastic wrap held in place by a rubber band. Then, a tulle is laid, on which a layer of glue will be applied to create what is called a cape. On this cape, strands of hair that have been partially glued together will be attached.
The process of fixing the wicks takes about thirty minutes, during which time they must be held in specific places while the glue sets. I make sure to guarantee the best possible quality and I constantly strive to improve my techniques.
La fabrication d’une perruque est un procédé nécessitant une grande précision et de soin. La colle utilisée peut se répandre sur diverses surfaces, y compris sur les mains et sur la poupée. Pour protéger cette dernière, il convient de recouvrir sa tête d’une pellicule de plastique maintenue en place par un élastique. Ensuite, une tulle est posée, sur laquelle une couche de colle sera appliquée pour créer ce que l’on appelle une cape. Sur cette cape, des mèches de cheveux préalablement partiellement collées seront fixées.
Le processus de fixation des mèches demande environ trente minutes, durant lesquelles elles doivent être maintenues à des endroits spécifiques le temps que la colle prenne. Je veille à garantir la meilleure qualité possible et je m’efforce constamment d’améliorer mes techniques.
