Hello my friends! Before I leave on vacation, look at what I received: a book entirely devoted to the BJD (Ball Jointed Doll), but only created by independent artists. Several of them have opted for porcelain as raw material, others resin, but also, as I have seen, many artists choose both. This beautiful book is written by Nathalie Cortinovis a teacher who lives in France and who is passionate about everything related to beauty, crafts, Art deco and of course dolls.
This bilingual book (French and English), gives a brief overview of doll history throughout the ages, but mainly focuses on the phenomenon of the BJD doll. More than 40 talented artists are described, including the unique Marina Bychkova, Ekaterina & Elena Popovy, Rafael Nuri and many others. I, who follow the doll industry for nearly fourteen years now, I have seen the evolution of this phenomenon which originated in Japan by Volks company and who has set the industry standard in terms of the BJD dolls sizes.
However, I must admit that many artists are absent in this book and it is a shame, because many of them are talented and have style which doesn’t fail! Who knows, they might just be added in a second edition of the book? Here are some of them and their link. Good viewing and I will see you soon!

Bonsoir mes amis!
