Good morning to all! I am happy to finally present the video of the 2021 Love Stone collection. This video concludes my adventure with this collection, but also with porcelain doll making. Despite my great appreciation for porcelain, which I think is the noblest medium on the market, sadly I decided to stop there. I will explain the reasons in another post. For now, enjoy the video!
Here’s the Love Stone 2021 collection! The stones I chose are: Crystal quartz, tiger eye, amethyst and citrine. I am often asked if I believe in the energies that gemstones bring. Honestly, I don’t know! However, I love accessories which are made with real and natural materials, especially jewelry. The ones made with metals and semi-precious stones, including gold, turquoise and citrine are my favorite ones. Thereβs a saying that each stone has a meaning and holds an energy of its own:
Crystal Quartz: Liberation from all negativity, purifies the body, harmonious realignment of body, soul and spirit. Often worn as a neckless to protect from negative elements in the environment.
Tiger Eye: Develops strength and vitality. Improves mental focus by providing good resistance to fears. Helps the eyes function properly.
Amethyst: Calming the nervous system and preserving inner peace. It is said that placing this stone on the computer or mobile phone can protect against electromagnetic waves.
Citrine: Helps with good communication, adaptation and coordination. It boots and comforts an individualsβ energies. It brings good sunny energies, restores self-confidence and creates a sense of inner power.
These damsels are almost finished and the collection is inspired by some precious stones, which I will unveil in the next post. In terms of clothing, I went with simplicity: a short 60s style dress with an asymmetrical jersey collar. In a few days, I will be doing a great photo shoot and video. Stay connected and see you soon.
A small preview of the new collection more in the next post!
I hope that you weren’t too saddened or shocked by the last post? But it was stronger than me and I had to talk about it. Don’t think I didnβt like the four dolls, which I worked extremally hard on. On the contrary, I’m very proud of them. However, as I get older, I have a better awareness of what kind of society I want to evolve in. A society where individual beauty and diversity are valued, shared and celebrated. This is what I wish for!
Doll assembly now finish after four difficult days! Thank you God!
Well, how can I say this… I’ve changed my mind! I changed my mind about my own artistic approach. It happened gradually. I had finally finished assembling my four dolls and when suddenly, I noticed that something was disturbing me as I was looking at them. But I didn’t know what it was. It was only after taking several pictures of them, THAT BOOM, I noticed what annoyed me with them: I found them slightly too thin! You see, although I am in the fashion industry, if there is one thing that bothers me at one point, it is the promotion and obsession with the cult of thinness. But hey, I do not want to venture too much into this subject. But one thing is certain, I’m in the process of developing a brand-new prototype. I wish that this doll would be with more graceful and realistic curves. Stay tuned guys!
Good morning everyone! I hope you are doing well and have had a good Mother’s Day, despite COVID 19. For my part, I continued the assembly of a few dolls. In fact, I tried… But, to be honest with you, I stopped. I was a little frustrated. I was trying to work too fast and because of that, two of my dolls had trouble sitting properly. The assembly had to be redone. A porcelain BDJ doll takes me a full day to assemble. The complexity of this type of assembly created by a metal springs and hooks system, is a long and delicate process. I need more time to do a good job. I leave you with this photo, it gives you a brief overview before I disassembly two dolls. Thank you for your interest and take good care of yourself!
Good morning my friends! When I look at my porcelain BDJ dolls and by manipulate them, I noticed that they were slightly too big for my liking. I usually like to handle large dolls, especially those made from polymer clay. But this time, no! I think this is due to the raw material that is porcelain. I’m always afraid it will break when I handle it… Not to mention that my porcelain BDJ dolls are 51 cm (20 1/4) tall. So, at this size, they are a bit heavy and their handling is slightly delicate. In short, for the next dolls, I intend to reduce their final size by two inches. Which means, changes are coming. I would have no other choice to make a brand-new bust, but also a torso!
Hello! It’s the day for each ladies to be assembled and each time, it’s an exciting step. Yes, it’s exhilarating, since finally, my dear ladies are coming to life! However, at this time Iβve decided to assemble two dolls with a complex system made of metal swivels, hooks and springs. Then, the other two, I used only elastics. I must admit that between the two techniques, the second one is simpler, much less expensive and more useful for BDJ dolls in resin or polymer clay. On the other hand, if you want your BDJ porcelain dolls to last a long time, believe me, the first technique is much required. Not to mention, their movements will be much more graceful!
