An analysis of a vision

During the past week, I took the time to analyze my new doll prototype and then took pictures and notes. Of course, a few small changes will be made in the up coming days. Honestly, when I started this BJD doll, which I will repeat again as prototype for my next project. I had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted. My vision was a beautiful doll with a healthy silhouette, a well articulated body without upsetting the aesthetics and a slightly mysterious childish women face.

Au cours de la dernière semaine, j’ai pris le temps d’analyser mon poupée prototype, puis j’ai pris des photos et des notes. Bien sûr, quelques petits changements seront apportés dans les prochains jours. Honnêtement, lorsque j’ai commencé cette poupée BJD, qui est et je le redis, un prototype pour mon prochain projet, j’avais une vision assez claire de ce que je voulais. Ma vision était une magnifique poupée possédant une belle silhouette en santé, un corps bien articulé sans contrarier l’esthétisme et un visage légèrement mystérieux du style femme-enfant.

Hello my friends! Things are doing pretty well for my BJD doll and I do my best to complete her. So, I try to work a little faster… I can’t wait to finish her! But this can be serious mistake on my part! As you can see, I had to not only rework the calves, but also the knees and the feet. Her hips were slightly off! Nothing was working, so I took a break for a few days to analyze the problem, and then make the needed adjustments. Sculpting this type of doll (BJD), and I would say all kinds of dolls, requests patience, stubbornness and good determination. As you can see in the photo, the knees and calves have been reworked and a second pair of feet has also been done.

Allô mes amis! Les choses se portent plutôt bien pour ma poupée BJD et je fais mon mieux pour la compléter. Donc, je m’efforce de travailler un peu plus vite…J’ai hâte de la terminer! Mais c’est une grave erreur de ma part d’aller vite! Voyez-vous, j’ai dû refaire non seulement les mollets, mais aussi les genoux et ainsi que les pieds. Ses hanches étaient légèrement dé-balancées! Rien n’aillait et j’ai pris quelques jours de pause pour analyser le problème, puis apporter des ajustements. Sculpter se type de poupée (BJD), et je dirais tous types de poupées, demande de la patience, de l’entêtement et une bonne détermination. Comme vous pouvez le constater sur cette photo, les genoux et les mollets ont été retravaillé et une seconde paire de pied a aussi été modelé.

Sad news, for those who follow my work on the IADR (International Art Doll Registry) site, I will be closing my artisan account on this site, next month. You are probably wondering why? IADR is reserved only to artist who make OOAK static figurative dolls and since I’ve been switching to BJD doll (Ball Jointed Doll), I feel my work does not belong to this group anymore. It has been three beautiful years with them. If you want to follow my work, I strongly advise you to follow me on my Facebook, Instagram accounts or better on this website. I am deeply sorry and thank to you all for your understanding.

Vous vous demandez probablement pourquoi ? IADR (International Art Doll Registry) est réservé uniquement aux artistes qui fabriquent des poupées uniques, figuratives et statiques. Puisque je suis passée à la fabrication de poupées BJD (Ball Jointed Doll), je sens que mon travail n’appartient plus à ce groupe. J’ai vécu trois belles années avec eux. Here are my sculpting tools, as you can see, I have a lot! But, tell yourself that each tool has been bought as I gained experience. On the other hand, I have favorite ones… This beautiful plastic box has three compartments and was bought at Walmart, and it is sold also at Fire Mountain Gems. To be more effective in my work, I made sure that each compartment has is function: in the first one, you will find wood and metal scalpels for sculpting, the second one, compass and rubber spatulas and in the third one, is reserved for finishing tools (brushes, oils, etc.)

Voici mes outils pour sculpter, comme vous le voyez, j’en ai beaucoup! Mais, dites-vous que chaque outil a été acheté au fur et à mesure que je gagnais en expérience. Par contre, j’en ai des préférés…Cette magnifique boite de plastique a trois compartiments, a été acheté chez Walmart, et on le vend également chez Fire Mountain Gems. Pour être plus efficace dans mon travail, j’ai fait en sorte que chaque compartiment est sa fonction : le premier, ont retrouve les spatules de bois et de métal pour sculpter, le second, des spatules de caoutchouc et des compas et le troisième est réservé pour les outils de finissions (pinceaux, l’huile, etc).

Hello my friends! I finally finished the hands of this prototype doll and she finally comes to life! I like sculpting hands which requires great care and attention to details…

Allô mes amis! J’ai finalement terminé les mains et cette poupée prototype prend enfin vie! J’aime bien sculpter les mains, cela me demande une grande minutie et une attention particulière aux détails…

Happy Sunday everyone! I continue to move forward with the arms of my new prototype and will definitely be done with the hands as well. Due to my day job, I mostly sculpt at night during the week, although I prefer to work with day light… In the morning, this is where I’m the most quiet, relaxed and my hands are better prepared to work.

Bon dimanche tout le monde! J’ai continué d’avancer avec les bras de mon nouveau prototype et j’aurai définitivement terminé avec les mains aussi. Dû à mon emploi du jour, je sculpte souvent le soir durant la semaine, quoique je préfère travailler avec la lumière du jour…Le matin, c’est là que je suis le plus calme, détendue et mes mains sont mieux disposées à travailler.

Hello! Soon, the legs of my new prototype (BJD) will be completed and honestly, I’m both excited and but also issued. I spent hours and days to perfecting them and I even made a retouch on the thighs. I feel positive in what is coming… to be continued in the next few days…

Allo! Bientôt, les jambes de mon nouveaux prototype (BJD) seront complétées et honnêtement, j’en suis à la fois excitée et mais aussi délivrée. J’ai passé des heures et des jours à perfectionner les perfectionner et j’ai même dû retoucher les cuisses. J’ai bon espoir pour la suite des choses…la suite d’ici les prochains jours…
