Hello doll lovers! On tonight’s post, I am proud to present to you Ava’s Lookbook! Like I said in a previous post, I was inspired by the 1960’s psychedelic bohemian style, but also by Haitian folklore.

This Lookbook concludes two things: my journey on making Ava and also, my adventure on working with polymer clay. Yes! My friends, it’s time for me to move on and work with another medium…I am someone who loves to take chances and challenge myself, otherwise I am somewhat close to boredom…The artist and designer forces me to explore and try new techniques, and I am excited for what is to come.

In a few weeks, I will introduce to you my new medium, but before I say farewell to Ava, there will be lost of new posts based both on dreams and laughs posts. I hope you will greatly appreciate them! I will see you soon and take care!

Bonjour les fans de poupées! Pour le post de ce soir, je suis fière de vous présenter le pan-flet vidéo de Ava! Comme je l’ai mentionnée dans un post précédant, je me suis inspirée du style bohémien psychédélique des années 1960, mais aussi du folklore haïtien. 

Ce pan-flet conclut deux choses : mon travail avec Ava et aussi, mon aventure avec la pâte de polymère. Hé Oui! Mes amis, il est temps pour moi de passer et de travailler avec un autre support technique… Je suis quelqu’un qui aime prendre des risques et de me surpasser, dans le cas contraire, je suis un peu proche de l’ennui… L’artiste et designer en moi, m’obligent à explorer et essayer de nouvelles techniques, et je suis très excitée pour ce qui s’envient.

Dans quelques semaines, je vous présenterai mon nouveau média, mais avant de dire adieu à Ava, de nouveaux postes seront publiés. Ces postes seront basés à la fois sur les rêves et l’humour. J’espère que vous apprécierez grandement! Je vous verrai bientôt et prenez soin vous!

Happy Saturday to you all and I am back from my Holidays! I hope you rested and took time with your loved ones!  For this first post of 2018, I want to write something positive, even though 2017 was a hard one, especially the last three months…But my sweet Ava, my current doll, was a joy to make, she brought some light in my creative mood and life! And now, she is waiting to be wigged! Her wigged cap is in the making for the third time! I have created her wig over and over and over again! I was so unsatisfied with it and especially with the glue that I used: some glues are made for fabrics, some for paper and others are all-purpose adhesives and it was up to me to test them all. You will see the results in two days…Thank you, my dolly friends, for being loyal followers and I am grateful for it!

Bon samedi à vous tous et je suis de retour de mes vacances! J’espère que vous vous est reposé et avez pris le temps d’être avec vos proches!  Pour ce premier post de 2018, je veux écrire quelque chose de positif, même si 2017 a été difficile, en particulier les trois derniers mois… Mais ma douce Ava, ma poupée actuelle, a été un bonheur à réaliser, elle a apporté de la lumière dans ma bulle créative et dans ma vie ! Et maintenant, elle attend d’avoir sa perruque! Son bonnet perruque est en cours de réalisation pour une troisième fois! Sa perruque, je l’ai produite de maintes et maintes fois! J’étais tellement insatisfaite avec cette perruque et surtout avec la colle que j’utilisais: certaines colles sont faites pour les tissus, d’autres pour le papier et d’autres sont des adhésifs tout usage et c’était à moi de les tester tous. Vous verrez les résultats dans deux jours… Merci, mes amis qui sont fans de poupées et d’être de loyaux suiveurs et je vous remercie tous!

Fitting time!

I am almost done with Manon’s outfit and during this past weekend it was fitting time! I was very happy on how it turned out: only one fitting for the skirt! Since Manon’s fashion design is a continuity of my previous (Adele) doll’s outfit, the design process was an easy one. I love the folkloric pattern of that fabric, since it’s uplifting and reflects happiness. More details on tomorrow’s post!

J’ai presque terminée avec la tenue de Manon. Au cours de ce dernier week-end, c’était le temps des essayages! Je très heureuse des résultats : il n’y a eu qu’un seul  ajustement pour la jupe! L’accoutrement de Manon est une continuité du vêtement de ma dernière poupée (Adèle). Donc,  le processus de conception a été facile. J’adore le modèle folklorique de ce tissu, puisqu’elle reflète le bonheur. Plus de détails sur le post de demain!

Here comes Manon, my latest beauty! After taking a week of vacation, I’m finally happy to present her! She was started a few weeks ago, actually at the end of June! Manon is a continuity of the work I did with Adèle, since both of their heads were sculpted at the same time  and with the same polymer clay: Kato polyclay. More details of her will be posted soon! Hello all decorative art lovers and Happy 4th of July to all Americans! Yesterday, I spend all morning to take a few photos of Adele and as always, when it comes to take pictures, I did have a few lighting problems! When It comes to photo shoots of my dolls, I prefer natural day light, but the sun did come and go, so I had to stop a few times and wait for it to come back. In tonight’s post, I will publish a preview of Adele’s photo shoot. During  the month of July, the posts will primarily focus on various photo shoots of Adele. You may be wondering why? Since I will be taking my vacations soon and also, it will give me time to complete another doll which I am presently working on. Thanks everyone for your understanding and interest in my work, I truly appreciate it.
