Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. -Harriet Tubman
Good Tuesday everyone. After several months of work, I finally finished my six art dolls. As you can notice, these dolls look more like puppets with cartoon features. Indeed, they do not look like the dolls I have been working on for the last three years with more natural faces. But, this time, I purposely sculpted the features (eyes, nose, and mouth) of the face very close.
Which gives this very puppet look that I like. Do you like this approach? I count for my future doll projects to return with more natural faces. In short, that’s it for me. I will take a few weeks off, and then work on other dolls of course. But don’t worry, several posts and videos will be published over the next few weeks with several photos of my new art dolls. Until then, have a very nice summer everyone.
Here is a brief overview of the creative process. I am inspired by the romantic sporty look which is a mix of taffeta materials, vinyl, and fabrics with romantic thick weave. Bright colors will also be very important. I’m excited for what’s next… Stay connected and see you soon.
I’m moving forward with wig making and this time I mainly used human hair for five dolls and mohair for one doll. I must admit that the use of mohair is wonderful. It seems more suitable for miniature dolls.
