Agnès the Island Pearl!

Happy Saturday everyone! May I present to you Agnès, the Island Pearl! I named her like this because this doll is very special to me, since she’s a reference of my Haitian roots! She’s also comes right in time for February, the black history month. As I previously said in one post, Agnès is the last doll from 2015, she stands 20 inches tall (50,8 cm) and is made of Cernit polymer clay. The dark part in her stomach, is a left over of polymer clay, Fimo Classic chocolate and since I really do not like waste of any kind, I had to use it! More photos of this beauty will be posted tomorrow! Enjoy!

This is my up coming fashion art doll created last year as final project for 2015! More details will be posted during the weekend! Stay tuned doll fanatics!

Haulani camera test (Bright Colors)

Tonight, I am celebrating four year on making dolls! It was four years of hard work, determination, perseverance, pleasure, joy, tears and most of all of FUN! Yes, since than, I am having the time of my life and doing what I always wanted to do, is to give to people a sens of hope. That we can be and do what we want, as long we believe in it and work hard for it! To this, I would love to give a huge thanks to my family for all their support! Big kiss to all of them!

Haulani painted!

Hello! Tonight, I’m continuing with Haulani, but after she’s painted. Speaking of painting, all my dolls are painted with professional acrylic paints. Most of the time, I use Liquitex, Golden or Desseres paints. I also use Fiber Castell and Derwent watercolor pencils for small detail work. For me,  it’s important to experiment first with new materials before making any final decisions! Meanwhile, I try not to be exclusive to any brand till I find the perfect one that suit my aesthetic.  Of course, like most art supplies, professional acrylic paints and watercolor pencils can be expensive. I try to buy according to my budget and sometimes what is on sale and than experiment. Thanks everybody and see you on Haulani’s next post!

Good evening! It feels so good to be back and posting on dolls again! A few days ago, in one of my posts, I mentioned that two dolls created in 2015, haven’t yet been shown! I was totally short in time, with my day job, going to college, testing polymer clay, improving a few Technics in my doll making and the list still goes on… Now, let’s talk about this one, Haulani, a big doll, stands 19 ½ inches tall (50 cm). She’s entirely made in Living doll polymer clay and her eyes are handmade by me in Swarovsky crystal cabochons, just like the ones that I previously made for a few dolls. She was not easy to sculpt, since her height and weight did not help. In fact, during the process of curing her, I had to make sure her under armature made with Fimo Classic was sturdy! Because of multiple cracks, due to the clay, she took me almost 5 weeks to complete! I did not want to loose any clay, since a few of them are expensive to buy and let me say it, I simply do not like waste! After she cooled down, although she had few cracks, Haulani’s skin color turned out lovely! I will continue with more photos of her tomorrow! Thanks/Merci!

2016 Doll resolutions!

Good evening everyone! Can you all believe it 2015 is already behind us! That year has past by very fast and many beautiful things happened to me during that year. Of course, one of them was to open my blog/website dedicated to my ooak dolls! Let’s say that It was my birthday gift! The beginning was a bit stressful, but an exciting one! For a first year, I never thought I would be posting that much, 156 posts actually! Of course, I’m looking to do a bit more in 2016, but differently!

First, I have to prioritize my presence much more on Social Media and for that, I need to affiliate Atelier Miss Georgia with people who both understand and share my true vision. Atelier Miss Georgia is more than just ooak fashion art dolls. It is a magical fantasy world dedicated to the chic and free spirit Bohemian! A world full of colors, textures, glitz and with a sensual touch! In a future post, I will explain and elaborate more in dept that Bohemian world! For now, I would suggest that you follow me and discover my Bohemian fantasy world on my Pinterest page !

Secondly, though there are still two more dolls from last year that I did not show, I decided not to put too much photos of my work in progress on my Flickr page and use it for artistic doll and textile photos only. The next post will be presented, in a few days, with one of the last two dolls, with a few pictures taken with my old camera!

Thirdly, in all Social Medias that exist, Facebook is my favorite one! I will also try to be more aggressive with my Google + page too! However, I have good news for people who have a Twitter account, I now have my own! Yeh! I will try to tweet everyday, just as much as on my Facebook page! If you’re interested to follow me on Twitter, here is the link

Next, like many great bloggers, I have few doll resolutions for 2016! Here they are:

-Having more followers on my WordPress page and of course, in all my different Social Media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest and Flickr)

-Be more active on other peoples WordPress pages and Social Media

-Showing more doll designs and textiles

-Improving my Technics in both dolls making and textiles

-Taking more calculated risks in my doll making

-Building a awesome and practical online shop

-Selling my first dolls

Finally, as a final word, I would love to give a warm thank you to all of the 1 814 likes in Atelier Miss Georgia Facebook page and the 124 followers of the Marie Georghy Jacob Facebook page. Another thank you goes to all followers in Pinterest, Flickr’s, Google + and of course to the WordPress community! Thank you so much to all of you, since none of this would have happen without your sincere encouragements and wishing that 2016 be much more exciting! To all of you, I wish you once again, a Happy New Year 2016 full of love and pure joy!

PS: I’m leaving you with a sneak preview of my two last dolls created last year, in 2015!

Best Regards
